I'm surprised that this eatery closed down. I thought their food was tasty! Hubby and I visited a couple of places in Oceanside and this was our first stop. The space was bright, clean, and had an indoor/outdoor vibe by the pier. To start, he got the kumquat calamansi natural soda and I got the dragonfruit soursop mocktail. The drinks were very refreshing! We shared the poached chicken, Mak Mak wings, fried chicken, lumpia, garlic noodles, the coconut rice, bone broth, and dumplings! The poached chicken was their take on Hainan chicken- it was a little bland to me. I really enjoyed everything else though! I can definitely see the chef's passion into the dishes. I think the wings were my favorite- it had a nice caramelized fish sauce, similar to Vietnamese style wings. I liked that they had a variety of lots of Asian cuisines with a slight twist.

A new, clean facility with a wonderful variety of menu options. Super central location, walking distance to the beach, hotels, downtown Oceanside. Staff is personable and gets to know the locals. What I loved were the drinks! The option to have them alcoholic or non. Not too fancy - everything is on paper plates but you can have real utensils :)

LOVE this place! We're big fans of Filipino food, and we were really excited to finally try Mak Mak in downtown O'side. Awesome location if you're heading to or from the beach since it's only a block away. You order through a QR code which was convenient, but we did have some questions which were easily answered by the bartender and the other server on site. The veggie lumpia was really light but perfectly crunchy and the garlic noodles are an absolute must-order. My favorite Filipino food is sisig, and their version of it is definitely classier than what I'm used to. You can definitely taste the difference in quality. The burnt bits of onion and chicken is what gives sisig that taste and texture I'm looking for, and they didn't disappoint. I can guarantee I'll be coming back for that and everything else on the menu I didn't get to try. My ONLY complaint is that they ran out of dumplings!

We were so excited to try this spot when they opened recently. Mak Mak Organic uses the freshest organic ingredients to recreate various street food from all around Asia. We tried: Kumquat Calamansi Natural Soda Dragon Fruit Soursop Hard Seltzer Chicken Lumpia & Veggie Lumpia Golden Tofu w/ Ginger Scallion Sauce Fried Chicken w/ Pineapple Teriyaki Sauce & Gochujang Sweet & Spicy Sauce Poached Chicken w/ Mak Mak Sauce (fermented soybean based) Garlic Noodles Garlic Ginger Rice (chicken broth infused) Coconut Rice Organic Chicken Bone Broth The fried chicken is a cross between Korean version and Japanese karaage, and it's so delightfully crunchy. And the poached chicken is like the Hainanese Chicken we love when we go to Malaysian restaurants, only even fresher since they use local organic chicken at Mak Mak. We both were putting that Mak Mak Sauce all over the rice -which trust me, both rices were delicious even on their own, but we couldn't waste a drop of that delicious sauce! We totally stuffed ourselves with this meal, but we left feeling really good, which is a testament to how clean and healthy this food is. We will absolutely be back with friends!

You can either sit inside or outside. There is cocktails and beers if you want. My favorite was the street wings! It was absolutely delicious!

A gem in Oceanside! Mak Mak has Southeast Asian fusion streetfood, which is so unique to Oceanside. The chef and owner is very passionate and it shows! Everything is made in house, the flavors are great, and they use quality ingredients. Really nice for a fresh lunch/dinner option. They are also very close to the pier! The menu is simple but actually has a lot of options. They have great vegan/vegetarian options as well. We tried most of the menu, but my favorites were definitely Hainanese Chicken (Poached chicken), Fried Chicken, and Garlic Noodles! I am usually not too crazy about chicken but they prepare it amazingly here and it is not at all dry. The garlic noodles are SO GOOD!!!!! They have natural sodas that are pretty refreshing. I really enjoyed the kumquat calamansi. They even have alcoholic seltzers and plenty of beers. Service is awesome. They are super friendly. Parking is street only, which isn't too bad. Super colorful and spacious inside. Love the open air space.

We love Oceanside! Walking toward the pier we stumbled on this place and happy we did! Sat outside on a cool breezy day and it was so relaxing despite being next to the street. Our server was a really nice guy that made us feel welcome. At the table of your choice you scan the bar code thing and it takes you to the menu and you can pick from many dishes and cocktails. You put in your order on your phone and they bring everything to your table, very convenient! We picked the Korean Fried Chicken and shared it. Had an IPA that was good and a hard seltzer. Chicken was VERY crunchy and delicious! They give you the option to pick a broth and type of rice. Very unique experience we thought and just really enjoyed being here. It's worth a stop if you come to Oceanside and are looking for something organic and very tasty!

A very cool spot - esp the ambience and in a top Oside location also (Close to all the action and the ocean also). Loved the Yuzu Mango Spritzer (Mocktail version); I'd have preferred better seasoning on the Tofu main-course but will def go to try more food in the future.
